The Atlas is specially designed to lift wheelchairs or transport chairs, and their passengers, up and down hundreds of flights of stairs. This enables users to remain seated, reducing the need to transfer in and out of your wheelchair and into a stair climbing chair lift.
The Atlas can lift up to 440 pounds and is ideal for navigating any space that lacks wheelchair ramps or elevators. Like the Genesis and Helix models, the Atlas can securely lift users of varying body types.
The Atlas is built to accommodate a standard wheelchair or transport chair with seat sizes of 16" 18" or 20" widths. However, due to the wheel clamps, the model will not work with most electric wheelchairs.
The model weighs 53 pounds, is easily stored in the trunk of most cars, and features powerful treads that ensure a fast climbing speed of 0.7 meters (2.3 feet) per second. At that speed, the Atlas takes about 10 seconds to traverse the average staircase. For safe transportation up staircases with 90-degree turns, staircase landings must be at least 44" x 44".
