Harmar AL6000 Inside Hybrid Lift

The Universal Powerchair Hybrid Platform Lift raises and secures powerchairs and scooters into the back of your vehicle. The lift attaches to existing third row seating mounts in the back of most SUV's, vans, minivans and even some station wagons. The lift itself is stored in the back of the vehicle, and the remote hand control powers the lift outward, lowers it to the ground where you drive the power wheelchair on to the lift. It is then secured with three straps, and you use the remote control to lift the unit and bring it into the vehicle. Secures to virtually any power chair or scooter. The AL6000 generally requires no bolting to the vehicle floor, unlike other lifts.

The AL6000 is the only platform style lift available for inside-the-vehicle mounting. Platform lifts are typically easier for securing and removing your mobility device than boom style lifts. Storing your mobility inside the vehicle rather than outside helps protects it from the elements, weather and other people, vehicles or objects that may potentially harm it. The platform is compact at 28.5” in depth with a 45” width allowing to fit in most vans and full size SUV’s.

Storing your mobility device inside your vehicle is always safer for your scooter or wheelchair as well as yourself. The lift is completely operated by a small, simple remote. The AL6000 is offered as both a standard model (350 lbs. weight capacity) and a heavy duty model (400 lbs.). The standard model comes with 4 cam buckles to secure your mobility device to the lift. The heavy duty model comes standard with a hold-down arm for securement. You can add the securement arm to the standard model as an upgrade. Self-tensioning restraints can be added to the heavy duty model for extra security.

General Frequently Asked Questions about Used Wheelchair Lifts

Q: Can I use the same lift for my chair and scooter?

A: You can use an AL300 to lift both a scooter and a chair.

Q: Is there any maintenance required for lifts?

A: The only maintenance needed is WD40 on all moving parts once every few months.

Q: How do I know which lift to get for my chair or scooter?

A: Talk to a technician about which lift is right for you and your power chair or scooter. You can also use Harmar’s Compatibility Calculator on Harmar’s website for a more detailed comparison and lift compatibility check.

Q: Can the lift be powered by my existing trailer plug?

A: No, lifts must be powered by a separate electrical harness that attaches directly to the car battery.

Q: Will I still be able to use my backup camera?

A: If you’re getting an outside lift that sits on the back of your vehicle then the camera will be obstructed.

Q: Can I use the swing-away feature while my chair or scooter is still on the lift?

A: You should not swing your lift away while the chair is still on it. It will put too much pressure on the swing away.

Q: What kind of hitch do I need on my vehicle to support the lift?

A: You will either need a Class 3 or Class 2 hitch.
